Antony and Cleopatra

John Adams’ opera Antony and Cleopatra premiered at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona on 28 October 2023. The European premiere followed a successful world premiere with the San Francisco Opera.
The opera was among first to use an Intimacy Director – with Ita O’Brien invited to join the production team following her work with soprano Julia Bullock in the Royal Opera House production of Theodora.
