Ita O’Brien is the UK’s leading Intimacy Practitioner and founder of Intimacy on Set, which provides services to TV, film, opera, and theatre when dealing with intimacy, sexual content, and nudity. O’Brien pioneered the role of Intimacy Practitioner and since 2014 has been developing best practice Intimacy On Set Guidelines, which have been widely adopted across the industry, advocating for safe, fair and dignified work.
O’Brien has worked on numerous high-profile productions including Normal People (BBC3/Hulu), Sex Education 1&2 (Netflix), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Warner Brothers), Gangs of London (Sky Atlantic), We Live in Time (Film 4), I May Destroy You (BBC/HBO), It’s A Sin (Channel 4), Theodora (Royal Opera House), Hamilton UK tour (Cameron Mackintosh), Empire of Light (Searchlight Pictures), Like Water For Chocolate (Royal Opera House), The Agency (Agency CMG Ltd), Die Frau Ohne Schatten (Dutch National Opera) and Lady Chatterley’s Lover (Netflix), to name just a few.
