So lovely to see The Greatest Showman musical up on its feet during previews last night at the Bristol Hippodrome
It was wonderful to have provided intimacy coordination consultation for the production, and I wish the whole team a joyful and successful run ahead – Ita O’Brien

A huge congratulations to the cast and creative team of The Makropulos Case at the Royal Opera House on their Olivier Award nomination.
It was such a privilege to work on this production as Movement and Intimacy Director, alongside the brilliant director Katie Mitchell and an extraordinary company of artists.
Really proud to have been part of this work.

The US edition of Intimacy has landed in Ita’s hands for the first time, who is attending the Women in Film & TV International Conference in Limerick

An absolute delight to hear Maggie O’Farrell, Nina Gold & Liza Marshall speak at the Women in Film and Television celebration lunch for Hamnet. A privilege to be sharing space with such incredible women!

Very grateful to have had my work on Black Bag, working with Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender & directed by Steven Soderbergh, nominated in this category.
It’s genuinely moving to see Intimacy Coordination recognised in this way, and to be alongside such thoughtful, skilled work of fellow practitioners:
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy — Renée Zellweger & Leo Woodall, IC Adelaide Waldrop
Dreamers — Ronke Adekoluejo & Ann Akinjirin, IC El Wood
Sinners — Wunmi Mosaku & Michael B. Jordan, IC Amanda Peek
Wicked: For Good — Cynthia Erivo & Jonathan Bailey, IC Yarit Dor
This work is always about care, consent, and collaboration; supporting performers in moments that ask for trust and vulnerability.
I remain thankful to Girls On Film for recognising and celebrating this work, and for the wider community that continues to hold these standards with integrity.

Intimacy On Set now have a web page that you are able to access all of Ita’s filmed interviews, podcast appearances, and published articles exploring the work and themes in the INTIMACY book.
It also includes links to purchase Ita’s book. both in the UK and US.
If you are interested in Ita’s pioneering work, or perhaps a student looking to understand more about the world of Intimacy Coordination, this collection should hopefully prove to be a set of valuable resources.

Intimacy on Set are thrilled to celebrate the Girls On Film awards nominations announcement, and proud to once again sponsor The Intimacy Award, celebrating authentic, meaningful, and responsible depictions of female pleasure on screen; joining fellow sponsors of the Awards, that include Netflix and IMDb.
Ita is also honoured to be nominated for the Intimacy Award for Black Bag, and is so proud to be nominated for the Activist Impact Award, recognising the ongoing work of Intimacy On Set in transforming culture, championing consent, and establishing safer, more ethical practices across the screen industries.

This week, Ita was invited by Women in Film & TV to attend a celebration lunch for the release of Hamnet, alongside the film’s writer Maggie O’Farrell, casting director Nina Gold, producer Liza Marshall, and the wider Hamnet filmmaking team. It was a real privilege to share a room with such inspiring women!
